Connecting Your Xbox To Minecraft Servers

Unlike on PC or Mobile version, the Xbox doesn’t have the same default access to servers. This is annoying as Minecraft servers offer larger player counts and often more features. This included cross play server allowing java and bedrock players to play together. So lets take a look at the easiest way to connect to a Minecraft server from your Xbox.

Download The MC Connector App

Firstly you will need to down the MC connector app to make the connection, the app is free and only requires you to watch an ad to then connect to a server.

You can download this for free from the play store.

This will allow you to make the connection, now its time to log in and join the server!

How To Connect To The Server

Now with the app its important that you are using the same WIFI as your Xbox, this will let the network connect automatically.

1. Open the MC Connector app.
2. Type in the IP and Port of the server.
3. Click connect and watch the ad.
4. Open your Minecraft on your Xbox.
5. Click on play and go to your “friends” tab.
6. Connect to the server listed at the bottom.

Issues With Connecting (Troubleshooting)

As previously mentioned this does rely on being on the same WIFI network, make sure to connect your phone the WIFI your Xbox is also using.

Another issue is that you closed down the ad too quickly or haven’t closed it after its finished.

Still not working?

Stop the server and re connect, watch the ad again and start a fresh.

10. Essentialsx Plugin

This plugins works well with 1.19 servers and can be download from the essentialsx site for the latest version plus extra add ons.

This plugins gives you hundreds of new commands to make normal commands shorter or just give you many more options to use in your server. Its very intuitive and makes administration, moderation and also functionality of the server much easier.

It provides features such as set home or tp home so players can easily set a home place and teleport back if needed.

You can set warps for your players to use along with tpa commands to let them teleport to each other. Meaning you don’t need extra plugins taking up more space on your server.

You can set and give player kits for the players that are accessible through commands that you can give to them. Full permission list here. Use a permissions plugins such as Luckperms to give your players the relevant permissions for commands.

This comes along with a full economy (requires vault) with pay player commands, sell to server commands and even sign posts you can enable to let your players create their own shops to buy and sell.

9. Geyser & Floodgate

Using the combination of both Geyser and floodgate you can easily and within 15 minutes have Bedrock players playing on your Java server. It provides some amazing code translating between Java and Bedrock that makes gameplay non lagy and very playable.

At first you used to have to have a java account and sign in but now with the plugin called floodgate this authorisation is done automatically and means you don’t need a java account and can simply log in with Bedrock.

The only thing you really need to do once installed is change some configuration to match your IP and Port for your server and your good to go! Brilliant plugin for any 1.19 server.

8. Villager Market Plugin

Villager market is a great 1.19 plugin that gives you not only the ability to create server shops. But also player shops that they can use to buy or rent to sell their own items.

Its easy configuration means that not only are server shops easy to set up, but also shops t rent take minutes to setup and price, and are easy for the players to set up too.

One of the best things about this plugin is the easy ability to sell commands, by charging for a command and then executing the command if the player has enough currency. It works great with vault and essentials or any other economy plugin.

You can also use this to give free kits that have time delays or limits to how many a player can buy and its super versatile for any 1.19 server.

7. Weapon Mechanics Gun Plugin

If your looking for guns on your Minecraft server but don’t want to use mods, install forge and have to go through all that faf then this is the perfect plugin for you.

By simply installing the gun plugin on a 1.19 server it will automatically work with no more installation or configuration needed. Its that easy.

Guns are all available by using the plugin commands, you can find our previous post here which included the commands for the guns. These range from pistols to Ak’s. Grenades to air strikes and all with ammo to use as well.

This works well with shaders installed also and can really turn up the level of excitement on your server. This can also be used with the villager market plugins command sell feature and sell weapons from the villager for a price! It even displays in the menu nicely so players can see what gun they will buy from the shop.

6. Viaversion & Viabackwards Plugins

Have you always wandered how some servers allow all version on no matter how old or new? This can be easily done by installing either viabackwards or viaversion to allow older or newer Minecraft version on to your server.

This can be great for servers that rely on a plugin that hasn’t updated, servers using geyser and floodgate for the version switch over, and generally just to allow more players on to your server.

This 1.19 plugin will work from the box and there is no configuration or setup required, simply download and upload to your server and your done.

ViaVersion will allow anyone that has a newer version than your server to join, for example if your server is 1.16. A player using 1.19 can still join and play.

Viabackwards allows you to let on players all the way back to 1.8, so even if the players are playing outdated Minecraft versions they can still join easily.

5. Saber Factions Minigame Plugin

Another great plugin for any 1.19 server. Saber factions gives you the complete factions experience for free! With one simple download you can get started on you world with factions, claims, banks, missions and much more.

Claims are clearly marked and you can even use the commands to find other ones near you, describe your faction and also full member control and permissions. With vault, an economy plugin and a small config change you can use the currency for factions also.

This 1.19 plugin also works with multiverse and having multiple worlds. Simply create one with factions and you can block the commands on the other worlds using a permissions plugin such as luckperms.

4. Mine Chess Minigame Plugin

If you are a fan of chess or simply ant a fun 2 player game for your 1.19 serer then the MineChess minigame plugin is the one for you. This gives you the full chess experience full with automation and assistance with playing.

With only 4 commands you can set up and auto build a complete chess board to play in seconds once setup. Lobbies are easy to set and you can use this with multiple worlds using multiverse.

The pawns can be selected on your turn and will show you the spaces they can go too. Each turn is timed and you can also check your stats easy with a simple command.

3. Custom Items Plugin 1.19

This normally free plugin has released a free version allowing you to create 2 free custom items for your Minecraft server.

These can have different abilities attached, come as different items and it has a great amount of in game configurability to it.

All editing can be done in game with their easy to use GUI and can really help customize your server with items that players can use or find else where.

2. Grim Anti Cheat Plugin

If you are looking for a free to use and open source anti cheat then you will be happy to find that grim ticks the boxes.

With a simply installation it will now keep track of all players and even give you a display of anything results found.

It intuitively also shows you the client brand so you can see if the players are using well known exploit version.

You can find many positive reviews on the download page on spigot and so far i have used it and its done a great job detecting cheaters and also not causing much lag on the server.

1. Grief Prevention Plugin 1.19

One of my favourite and most used plugin for any 1.19 server. As the title suggest its saves you from grief, and this is true and tested by myself. Firstly it provides an easy claim system to make sure your plot is safe. This can be done by placing your first chest or using a golden shovel (configurable to other items) to mark your area.

Any item, crop, mob or frame is now complete defended against tnt, creepers, stealing and grief of any kind. This also stops many exploits with other plugins that allow pushed or cannon tnt to enter.

Not only will tnt explosions above sea level be completely disabled but creepers will not cause any damage to any block ever again.

To put it simply, it stops any grief, stealing (from secured plots) and stops mobs being used as weapons, as well as other well known “exploding” items.

So this is my top 10 list of Minecraft plugins for a 1.19 server. Hopefully with the range of plugins you can use more than one and many have been tested with multiverse and geyser too. Meaning that many work as cross platform or on multiple worlds.

How To Effect An Exact Area In Minecraft

This command is brilliant for getting and exact area of which to effect a player or entity or even block in Minecraft. You can of course set a radius command however this effects blocks in a circular motion around the spot rather than an exact area which you want it to effect. For instance a square, rectangle or other shapes.

Understanding What X Y Z Coordinates Mean

First lets understand the coordinates as you will need to know this before using the dx dy dz in Minecraft to show an excite area.

In bedrock edition you need to switch on your coordinates so you can see where your players coordinates are. You can do this by your pause menu, or you can use the command.
/gamerule showcoordinates true

Once you have them enabled you can see exactly where your player is stood. On the top left you will see 3 numbers for example you might see.

120 60 -190

It goes in this order X Y Z So 120 is on the X axis, 60 is on the Y axis (height) and -190 is on the Z axis.

Now you can identify exactly where your player is on my map. So lets find out how to use this with dx dy dz to effect a specific area.

Using Your DX DY DZ To Plan Radius

So for example lets say green is the X and yellow is Z. The Y is the height of the player so I won’t include it in this map. Lets say the height (Y) is 50 as an example.

The red dot is sitting on X=5 the Y=50 and Z=3 this gives you your exact location.

Now lets say you want to make a cube to the right of where your stood to cover this area (picture below)

So let’s say you want to give an effect at everyone in this area? Lets find out by doing an effect command.

Lets start the command with /effect @a and now we have to specify the exact location to effect the player.

First we need our coordinates where we start (the red dot) so /effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3.…..

Now we follow it with the distances away or from the original position. So dx is how far up or down from where we started. If you count up it counts 3 blocks away from the red starting square

Just be aware that if it went downward on the map you would be going in minus, so -1 -2 -3 ect.

Now lets figure out our DY, this is simply the height so lets say we want it to effect everyone from the Block where your feet are to your head. So 3 blocks height should do that. dy=3

Now lets update the command. /effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dx=?

For the last part we need to figure out what the dx is. As you can see we move in a positive direction 4 blocks to the right.

And again to clarify if it were going toward the left it would be in the minus so -4. How ever we were 4 blocks to the right so dz=4.

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4]

Now for this command lets finish it off with a command to give someone slowness in this area.

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] slowness 10 10

Now anyone in this area will be effected with slowness for 10 seconds for 10 strength.

You can also effect a different number of people by adding a player count. Leaving it empty will effect everyone but for example if you want it to be for only one person you can finish it with c=1

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4c=1]

Other Examples For The Radius Commands

You can also use this give people items within an area:

/give @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] stone 5

You can use this to teleport players when they reach specific areas:

/tp @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] 100 60 120

1. Download Forge 1.18.2 from the here.
2. Open the downloaded jar file and double click it.
3. Choose install to client. Then wait for it to load.
4. Open your Minecraft launcher.
5. Select Forge 1.18.2 from the installations options.

Now if you dont find it in your playable installations (where you normal choose the version to play) then go to the top of your launcher and click on installations. Make sure modded is ticket on the top right and then simply create the installation forge 1.18.2

GTA Mod For Minecraft PE

Version MCPE: 1.2.8 – 1.18.1

Although not immediately labelled as a gun mod, any one who has played GTA knows that the game heavily relies on guns. Making this a great gun for Minecraft PE.

Upon further inspection is has a variety of a few weapons that replace standard weapon in the game. The selection isnt quite as large but involves some simple weapons like the knife, pistol and MP5.

Another great addition to this mod is that is has turned some of the naturally spawning mobs into the GTA san Andrea’s gang members.

They have also been programmed to fight each other leading to some very fun gameplay. Another thing that has been added is the addition of policemen that at first can be friendly. But will look for a reason to attack you as they are also some what corrupt.

This gun mod for Minecraft PE has pros and cons. The free version has some weapons unavailable that can only be purchased from the official website. Along with that they have warned that it might infact be a bit buggy with newer versions as they will only be updating the paid version.

With many plugins not compatible or just buggy I found the top 3 plugins to use for your cross platform server that look professional and work well for both java and bedrock.

Villager Defence Minecraft Minigame Plugin

Lets get started with the Villager Defence Minigame, an amazingly entertaining plugin that can also be played single player on servers.

What Can I Do In Villager Defence?

The objective is to keep all 20 villagers safe, they will have doors to their houses and waves of zombies coming to get them.

The waves get bigger as you progress and harder too. Survive the waves and keep your villagers safe!

What Features Do I Get?

Easy setup including sepperate Lobbies, starting/ending points. Spectator modes and your able to create multiple arenas.

In game you can choose form kits that unlock as you progress. And also use orbs generated by killing zombies to buy items you can set in the in game shop. The in game shop has to be pre programmed but the setup is easy.

Compatibility and Game Play

As you can see in the video above the gameplay is great, experiencing no log and all the features work fully. Bedrock players can fully see the API with scoreboard displays and also buy items from the game shop.

Murder Mystery Minecraft Minigame Plugin

A classic Minecraft Minigame now with the ability to run on a cross platform Minecraft server. This has a minimum of 2 players and has a really cool set of extra features that it adds to enhance gameplay.

What Is The Objective of Murder Mystery?

One player by random gets chosen to be the murderer, another to be the sheriff and others to be be normal players. The murderer has to sneakily kill the other players with out getting noticed or killed.

The sheriff has to try and find the murderer and the other players simply have to try and stay alive. And try and make it till the end of the count down.

What Features Are In The Murder Mystery Plugin?

Easy setup as normal, the ability to set multiple spawn locations easily, and a great GUI & API.

You can set gold spawners to spawn gold through out your map. You can the use this on the cauldrons you setup to get mystery prizes that either give you an advantage or disadvantage in the game for some seconds.

You can also create a enchantment table with an awesome feature of praying to the developers. This will either give you and awesome extra feature or one that sucks and hinders your winning ability.

Compatibility and Gameplay

Great compatibility and game play, only one thing I noticed is that bedrock can use the cauldron but not the enchantment table. Apart form that everything works really well.

Build Battle Minecraft Minigame Plugin

Another classic Minecraft minigame with the build battle plugin. Select from 3 game modes and build the greatest creation to then be put to the vote from the other players.

What Do You Do In Build Battle?

Compete and out build other players on your game. You are in creative mode but kept within a safe space so no one can use their abilities to grief or get extra items. Build as fast as you can in the timer time and then put the builds ot the vote at the end.

What Features Do You Get With The Build Battle Minigame?

Free maps that can be found on the plugily discord. Floor changers, themed game modes, single or 2 player game modes so you can also team up and build with your friends.

Put the builds up for the vote suing a really professional voting system and even get celebratory fireworks for the winner.

Compatibility and Gameplay

This minigame plugins works great with both bedrock and java and is one of the best minigame plugin I can find for Cross platform servers.

The level of detail is amazing and the developers were clearly aiming for a premium style plugin for people to use.

What Does The Origins Mod Do?

By installing Minecraft Origins mod your able to start of and keep a super power through out your Minecraft world. There range from arachnid climbing features. To flying and other cool powers you can use. Be careful though as some might turn out to become problematic to you later in the game.

In this article you will find out how to install it and all about the abilities your able to choose. Ill have a list of pros and cons for each ability so you can make a wise choice before starting your game with the Minecraft origins mod.

What Is Needed to Run The Origins Mod

It runs on a Fabric 1.16.5 jar. It will also need the Fabric API mod installed. We will be using the CurseForge Installer rather than doing it manually, as its a much more stable and working method to run mods on CurseForge.

How to Install Minecraft Origins Mod Guide

1. Install the CurseForge App on your PC.
2. Once downloaded, follow the installation instructions and sign in using your Mojang Account or your Microsoft account if you have migrated.
3. Choose Minecraft form the main menu.
4. Click on Create Custom Profile on the top right of the app.
5. Name your profile, choose version 1.16.5, choose Fabric and tap create.
6. Now find the puzzle piece icon under play (add more content) and use the search bar to look for origins, then install it.
   The Fabric API mod that is needed already comes installed with the Fabric installation.
7. With the origins mod installed and fabric already installed its just a case of pressing play on your profile and loading up the game.

If you wish to not choose any super powers then simply choose human. No positive or negative effect will be given to you and you can continue your game as normal. This is best for servers where not everyone wants to play with that mod. They can choose not too.#

Arachnid Origins Ability

Pros

You can climb any walls like a spider, travel through cobweb easily and when you hit an opposing player they get stuck in cobwebs.

Cons

You are a carnivore so you can only eat meat. You are also much more fragile and get 3 less hearts than normal.

Avian Origins Ability

Pros

You get feather falling so dont get hurt from falling impact. Every morning you wake up, you lay an egg. Your a little bit quicker on foot than other meaning you can get away if needed whilst they cant keep up.

Cons

When sleeping your best must be at least 86 blocks up in the air for you to be able to breath fresh air. As a vegetarian you will no longer be able to digest meat.

Blazeborn Origins Ability

Pros

You get fire immunity, descended from the nether you need to be able to explore safely. If you are on fire you deal addition attack damage to others. Due to your hot body you are immune to poison and hunger issues that other players might face.

Cons

Your natural spawn will now be the nether, so get used to it. Your going to be spending a lot of time there. Being a blazeborn means that water will deal damage to you if it gets in contact.

Elytrian Origins Anility

Pros

You have elytra wings wiht out having to equip any. Every 30 seconds you are able to launch up 20 blocks in the air. You deal much more damage in an elytra fight.

Cons

You cant wear any protection higher than chain mail. If you find yourself in a confined area for too long you will become weaker and slower. You also take more damage from flying or falling into blocks.

Feline Origins Ability

Pros

No fall damage is received, no matter how far the fall. You can jump higher whilst sprinting. Creepers are scared of you and will only explode if attacked by you. You can slightly see in the dark when not in water.

Cons

You get 1 less heart than humans. You can only mine natural stone if there are 2 other natural stone blocks adjacent to it.

Merling Origins Ability

Pros

You can breath underwater. Your vision underwater is perfect. Your able to break blocks underwater like others can on land. Water speed is also increased. Underwater you do not sink unless you choose too.

Cons

You cant breath whilst out of the water. (Big Con)

Phantom Origins Ability

Pros

Your skin appears translucent. Whilst in your phantom form you can go through blocks (except obsidian). When in your phantom form you are also invisible.

Cons

You begin to burn in the day light, unless your invisible. Extra hunger leading to hunger bar going down quicker. You also have 3 less hearts than humans.

Shulk Origins Ability

Pros

You have an additional 9 inventory slots that get kept even after death. No need for armour when you skin provided natural protection. You can break natural stones with out the use of pickaxe with your strong hands.

Cons

Due to your hand shape you cant hold a shield upright. You exhaust much faster than others meaning you need to eat more.

Random Origins Ability

Not able to make the decision yourself? You also have a random option which will give you a random pick of one of the above abilities to play with. Careful though as this ability will stay with you untill the end.

Conclusion

This is a super fun modpack with lots of quirks. I can image this would be perfect for a Minecraft server where you can play with your friends and experience all the benefits of multiple abilities. Perhaps even a super hero server?

Fishing rods in Minecraft are an amazing item due to its amazing features. So before we get in to how to make a fishing rod in Minecraft lets first briefly explain some of the great things you can do with it.

With its random chance of either catching fish or any other items, fishing can turn out very lucky. As the items range from puffer fish to salmon or even enchanted armour. It may pay off spending a bit of time on the shore sitting back and catching some items.

Of course the main use of catching fish is also a great way of collecting items to eat in potentially quite barren lands. Create a small campfire where your fishing and you can cook them all up in no time.

Items Needed to Make a Fishing Rod in Minecraft

As with anything in Minecraft lets go through the items needed to make a fishing rod. Like many other useful items it only actually consists of very basic ingredients.

• 3 Sticks
• 2 String
  To Craft or Enchant
• 1 Crafting Table
• Anvil for Enchanting (Optional)

Where to Find Items For a Fishing Rod

Sticks

Sticks are the easiest of the two items. Simply find your nearest tree and by breaking the leaves you will eventually get some sticks fall down.

Alternatively if you break the tree down and use a crafting table. You can then create sticks from the wood.

String

You can get string from a few places so we will list them underneath.

Anvil

How to Make a Fishing Rod in Minecraft

Crafting is simple for this one and can be done almost at the start of a new game in a new world. To make a fishing rod in Minecraft you place the Sticks in a diagonal line from the bottom left to the top right of the crafting table slots.

Now add the string in the two blocks under the top right stick to create a fishing rod. Simply place in your inventory and your ready to go fishing.

How to Use a Fishing Rod in Minecraft

To use a fishing rod you will need to find some water (bigger than a few blocks) and right click or use your action button on the water depending what device your using.

You will see its thrown a line out and you have a bobble in the water where you have cast your fishing rod. This will bobble up and down gently for several seconds.

Eventually you will see lighter blue bubbles zig zagging toward your bobble. At the point it touches your bobble and it goes deeper into the water, you want to right click or use your action button to reel it back.

You will have the item caught and some experience levels thrown back at you. So adding the enchantment Mending after you make the fishing rod will make your fishing rod last forever. So keep it safe! You can even pop it in a item frame to sit next to your favourite Minecraft painting.

What Items Can You Catch After You Make a Fishing Rod 

It is split up in to three categories. This is Fish, Junk or Treasure. The names are fairly self explanatory, fish will range from salmon to puffer fish. Junk can consist of many items including old boots, lily pads string and other fairly useless items. Treasures can be really good, although a lower chance of getting these items its worth waiting for them as they can prove handy.

These can include enchanted fishing rods, armour, weapons, other enchanted items and a large variety of items considered as treasures due to their uses.

There are a few useful enchants you can add to your fishing rod to make it super powered. From healing itself to getting extra luck for enchanted items. Its worth investing some in to making a Minecraft fishing rod and enchanting it.

Carrot on a Stick

Introduction on How to Make a Painting In Minecraft

Paintings are a great item when decorating the inside of your Minecraft house. The beauty of Minecraft is the versatility of all the blocks allowing you to create many things with different items to imitate them well.

How ever with Minecraft Paintings you have a specifically made decoration that comes with different selections ready to place. Not only do they have a different selection of paintings available but also different sizes of paintings for different sized buildings.

So enough about this awesome item lets get into how to find the items, and how to make a painting in Minecraft.

Items Needed to Make a Painting In Minecraft

First things first and as with almost everything in Minecraft it involves collecting some items to craft the painting. The items to make a painting are actually really easy to obtain so you can be creating awesome home decorations for your Minecraft house in no time.

• 8 Sticks
• 1 Wool
• 1 Crafting Table

Where to Find Items to Make a Painting in Minecraft

Sticks

Lets get started with the Sticks first. There are a few ways to collect or craft sticks. First of all you have a chance of getting sticks by breaking leaves from a tree. (With out shears) Another way is to break down the tree and use the wood collected to craft sticks using a crafting table.

Wool

For wool there is only one source and that will be sheep. Sheep although easy to find, can sometimes prove impossible to find when you actually need them.

You may also require shears to shear the wool from the sheep. This is optional as you can also kill the sheep and still have a good chance of it dropping the wool as an item.

The spawn in grassy Biomes at the surface level, usually in a group of 2-3. They require 2 blocks of space above them and also a light source of around 7 and higher. So by heading to grassy areas with lots of space, it will increase your chances of finding a sheep by quite a lot.

They Dont spawn in to Snowy Tundra Biomes or Wooden Badlands Plateau. So dont waste your time looking here.

How to Make a Painting In Minecraft

Now that we have all our items its time to Make a Painting. First of all place your crafting table down so we can start adding the items.

You want to fill all the surrounding boxes in the crafting table with the 8 sticks leaving one space in the middle for the wool.

Now add in the wool you collected from the sheep to the crafting table in the middle slot to craft the Minecraft painting. You will now be able to collect the painting and place it in your inventory.

How to Place and Pick Up Paintings

To place a painting simply right click (use the action button) on a wall you want to place it on. The paintings have a varied selection and it will randomly choose a painting to fill in.

The paintings are also space dependant meaning if you have a small 4 block wall. It will create a painting of that size. And if you have a huge wall it will try to find a painting to match the size. It doesnt always match but it tries to fill the place as best it can.

To remove a painting simply break it with any item in your hand and you can collect it and put it up anywhere else.

How to Create Secret Doors With Paintings

One fun thing you can do with paintings is create secret doors that look like a wall. This is done as paintings are entities that you can run through. Meaning they wont block you by passing through them.

Using this method you can make a painting in Minecraft for a large wall and then take out 2 of the blocks behind it to create a secret passageway. This way everyone will think its just a nice decoration of your house, but you now have a secret bunker in your Minecraft house that other people may not know about. Especially when playing on a realm or Minecraft server.

How to Carve a Pumpkin In Minecraft

Carved Pumpkins can also be made into funny pranks for friends or to save you from Endermen in the end. As we all know how hard it can be to fight the dragon with them pesky Endermen spawning in on you.

We will start of on how and where to find Minecraft Pumpkins, how to create shears to carve them and finally how to carve a pumpkin. Then, we have all the other fun things we can do with them after you have carved one yourself.

Where to Find Pumpkins in Minecraft

So pumpkins spawn generally in any overworld biome providing they have grass and at least 1 block of air above them. Each chunk has a 1/32 chance of spawning a pumpkin patch making them rarer than diamonds in some cases.

There are some areas that have a bigger chance that you will find them as they naturally generate there, places you can find pumpkins more frequently are:

• Woodland Mansion Farm Rooms
• Woollen Tends in Pillager Outposts
• Taigas and Snowy Taiga Villages

The fastest way to farm pumpkins is normally by axe. And you might even be lucky enough to find a carved pumpkin in a pillager outpost in the form of a scarecrow.

How to Make Shears to Carve a Pumpkin in Minecraft

Once you have collected your pumpkins its time to create a carved pumpkin. But first we need to get some shears as this is needed to carve the pumpkin.

Its time to get your mining boots out and find some iron! But dont worry only 2 raw iron will be needed. When you do get your two pieces of iron, just add it to your furnace along with some fuel. and get your 2 iron ingots.

Now head over to your crafting table and add the two iron ingots like the picture below. Now you have yourself some shears to carve your pumpkin. And if you have never uses shears before you will be glad to know you can now also collect other items like leaves from trees and other naturally generated blocks with out breaking them.

How to Carve a Pumpkin in Minecraft

Now we have everything ready we can finally crave our pumpkin. So place down your Pumpkin, collect your shears and simple right click (if on pc) on the pumpkin to crave it.

If you using another device like mobile, switch, PlayStation or Xbox. It will be your action button rather than your break button. The one that craves trees or you use to interact with buttons.

Once sheared you can now break the block and you will have a craved pumpkin to use.

Wearable and Pranks

Wearable

A great way to have fun with pumpkins is putting them on a friends head as it gives them the sight of the craved pumpkin. How ever it doesnt just end there. You can use this to make you invulnerable to Endermen as they can no longer see you or attack you if you have this carved pumpkin on your head.

So a great tip if your taking down the dragon is to have carved pumpkin on you to stop the pesky Endermen attacking you whilst your fighting the dragon which is hard enough.

Pranking

Looking to prank a friend? Did you know that you can add curse of binding to a craved pumpkin? Thats correct, get yourself carved pumpkin, get yourself an enchanted book with curse of binding. Add the two together using an anvil and the next person to wear this will not be able to remove it from their head. Excellent fun.

Creating Iron Golems with Carved Pumpkins

Now lets go through some of the other fun features a carved pumpkin has. First lets create an iron golem. These friendly giants like to protect villagers with their lives. They are friendly to players too unless you hurt on of his/hers beloved villagers.

If this happens they eyes will go red and its time to run unless you want to get pinged into the air, followed shortly by a Minecraft death.

Its fairly simple to create but it does require 3 Iron Blocks and 1 Carved Pumpkin. Simple place the iron blocks in a T formation. So 2 blocks up and one on either side of the top block.

Once you have your T shape its time to add the carved pumpkin on the top middle of the T shape as a head and an iron golem will now appear.

Creating Snow Golems with Carved Pumpkins

Another great entity you can create in game with out being in creative mode is a Snow Golem. Now you have learned how to carve a pumpkin in Minecraft its time to start using it where ever possible.

To create a Snow Golem simply collect 2 Snow Blocks and 1 Carved Pumpkin.

Now to collect snow you will need an enchanted silk touch shovel. If you dont have this simply break the snow with a regular shovel and create a snow block using 4 snow balls that you collect from the original broken snow block.

Once you have obtained or crafted the items its time to create a 2 block high shape with the 2 snow blocks. So two blocks straight up. Then put the Carved Pumpkin on top and it will instantly turn into a Snow Golem. Just be aware it will leave an ice trail behind it when moving.

Making a Jack O Lantern With a Carved Pumpkin

Looking for a cooler looking light source? Or perhaps its coming up to Halloween and you want to decorate your server or realm? Its time to put your new skill in how to make crave a pumpkin to use again.

Collect your carved pumpkin and head to a crafting table. You will require 1 Carved Pumpkin and 1 Torch per Jack O Lantern.

Now place the Carved Pumpkin in the top middle of the table and a torch in the middle to create a Jack O Lantern.

How to Grow Pumpkins

With every great farmer comes the need for more produce. So lets find out how to grow more pumpkin by creating seeds and farming them.

First you will need a pumpkin and a normal wheat seed. You can now combine both the pumpkin and seed to create a pumpkin seed. Now to farm simply hoe your land within 4 spaces of a water block. Place your pumpkin seed and leave one space free either side of the plant for the pumpkin to grow as it grows next to the plant.
