Easy Minecraft tutorial for the /alwaysday command in bedrock edition.

What Is The /alwaysday command used for?

This bedrock command is used to keep the daytime cycle frozen. In Minecraft it runs through a day and night cycle and you sometime working through the night and day can be frustrating with mobs or just generally not being able to see so well. So using the always day command will help light up the situation.

How To Use the /alwaysday command

Step 1. Make sure you have cheat enabled on your game. To do this either start a world in with cheats enabled, in creative or you can change the settings form your world menu to allow cheats.

Step 2. To use the cheats you need to use your chat bar by pressing the forward slash button /

Step 3. In the chat bar type in /alwaysday and then press space to get the option available.

Step 4. Now to enable always day you need to type in true or press tab to autofill from the available answers. Then press enter.

How To Disable The /alwaysday command

Same as you enabled it, you press / the type the following command but instead of true, you write false.

How To Use Spawn Protection In Minecraft Bedrock And Protect Your Spawn 5 (1)

Lets take a look at how to protect your spawn from griefers in Minecraft bedrock. Unfortunately as hard as you try its hard to stop people logging on and trying to ruin your beautiful spawn in a matter of minutes. So lets find out how to protect our spawn in Bedrock.

Why Protect Your Spawn On A Server or Realm?

Since the start of Minecraft online there have always been what are known as griefers. These are other players that will intentionally or at some point decide to log onto another persons server and try to break all the hard work they have put in to make a spawn.

So for this reason I have decided to make a tutorial to find out all the best ways to add spawn protection to your spawn in Minecraft if its on a server or realm. You can use one or multiple methods listed below to try and make your spawn unbreakable for a Minecraft Bedrock server.

How To Use Spawn Protection In Minecraft Bedrock

There are lots of different ways we can help secure spawn so lets take a look at the list below and find whats the most suitable for you.

Deny, Allow and Border Blocks For Spawn Protection

Deny Block

These amazing little blocks brought in a few years ago have changed how much griefers can get away with dramatically. This single block stops anyone breaking or placing any blocks above where they are placed. Meaning that simply building a layer underneath your spawn will do most of the job for you with out even having to type one command in.

So if you put the deny block layer on the bedrock level of the are you want to protect it will protect anything above the area all the way up untill the build limit.

How Do You Get A Deny Block?

To get a deny block and start protecting your spawn in Bedrock simply open the chat and type in /give playername deny 1. For example if my player name is hotdog123 I would type /give hotdog123 deny 1.

You also need to be an op to use these blocks and you can do this by typing into your server console op playername. Once you are an operator you can now sue the blocks and commands.

You can also use @s @a @r @p instead of the player name you want to give a deny block too.

@s means to self
@a means to everyone
@p means to the closest player
@r means to a random player

Allow Blocks

Allow blocks are great to use in conjunction with deny blocks. As allow blocks will allow the player to break or place anything that is ontop of the block, but no the block itself. You might be wandering why there is any need for these then as you can break blocks normally in Minecraft anyway?

Its so you can have areas on top of deny block for you to use. For example I have a spawn but in one area I want players to be able to mine or break a tree or even build in a certain area only. I can do this by having the deny blocks underneath my entire spawn but in the areas I want players to mine, I have placed some allow blocks ontop of the deny blocks allowing the player to build/place blocks from the allow block and upward, but no further down than the allow block and as soon as they go over the edge of the allow block they will be stopped by the deny block again.

Changing Players Gamemode In Spawn

Another way to stop spawn griefing is setting up 2 command blocks that will set your gamemode to adventure within spawn and a second to change you to survival mode once you leave.

This method is tried and tested and works really well as the adventure mode is repeatedly forced upon players so even if they switch to survival it will switch them back within a split second.

Using this method you can create a complete spawn protection in the area of your spawn and then as soon as they leave this area they can go back to normal survival mode automatically.

Setting Up The Ticking Area For Your Commands

Before we set up the command blocks we need to make a ticking area in your world. A ticking area will allow any commands within this area to run through out the entire world. If the command blocks arent in a ticking area then the command will only work for a number of blocks away from the command block itself.

So first find the area you want your commands to run from (keep this a private area and near the middle of your spawn) and then open your chat and type this as a command to create a ticking area where you are stood.

What this command break down to is, your adding a ticking area in the shape of a circle were your stood (~ ~ ~) it goes out 4 chunks from the centre and your calling it spawn

Adding Your Spawn Protection Command Blocks

Step 1. First command block you need to place in your ticking area (in the middle of spawn) is to make everyone go into adventure mode when they enter your spawn area. Do this by adding the following command in the command block.

execute @a[m=s,r=210] ~ ~ ~ gamemode a

An explanation of this command is:

> “execute @a” To execute this at anyone in the world.
> “[m=s” This will now only work for everyone which is in the gamemode of s=survival
> “,r=210]” This will make this work only in the range of 210 blocks (change this to suit your spawn)
> “~ ~ ~” This means it will be executed from the place the command is run from (if command block its there) if you have your ticking area in another place you can run this command by switching the tilda’s (~) to the centre coordinates of your spawn.
> “gamemode a” This will switch everyone which suits the conditions to adventure mode.

Now make sure the command block is set to Repeating, Unconditional and Always Active.

Step 2. Now lets setup the second command block to switch everyone to survival mode as they leave the area.

Put down another command block in your ticking area (preferably in the centre of spawn) and type in this command.

An explanation of this command is:

> “execute @a” To execute this at anyone in the world.
> “[m=a” This will now only work for everyone which is in the gamemode of a=adventure
> “,rm=212]” This means it only takes effect in a range minimum of 212 and further ranges but not less than 212 blocks thats why its 2 blocks more than the range. Meaning that the first command blocks switches them to adventure within 210 blocks of the command blocks but anything after 212 blocks will be effected by this command and switch them to adventure.
> “~ ~ ~” This means it will be executed from the place the command is run from (if command block its there) if you have your ticking area in another place you can run this command by switching the tilda’s (~) to the centre coordinates of your spawn.
> “gamemode s” This will switch everyone which suits the conditions to survival mode.

Now make sure the command block is set to Repeating, Unconditional and Always Active.

Anti Creative Mode Command Block

In a similar way to the last method you can also use the same command to stop anyone apart from yourself and other selected players from going in to creative mode.

This can be extremely helpful for any one using toolbox and can change their gamemode illegally. As this is a repeating command even if they switch they will be switched back in a split second.

First setup the ticking area command before you place down your command block so it works through out the whole world.

Now put down a command block and type in the following command (replacing the player names with the ones you want to exclude from this rule.

An explanation of this command is:

> “execute @a” To execute this at anyone in the world.
> “[name=!playername” This will exclude players from this command so if my playername is bob123 it would be: /execute @a[name=!bob123,m=c] ~ ~ ~ gamemode s
Its important to have the exclamation mark (!) before the name as this means to exclude this player from the command. If you have a space in your playername use brackets on either side when adding to command. So bob 123 would be “bob 123” and if you want to exclude multiple players from this command you use a comma and repeat like this.
/execute @a[name=!bob123,name=!gemma321,name=!rogger34,m=c] ~ ~ ~ gamemode s
> “m=c]” This will make sure the command only works for players that are in the gamemode of creative.
> “~ ~ ~” This means it will be executed from the place the command is run from
> “gamemode s” This will switch everyone which suits the conditions to survival mode.

Now make sure the command block is set to Repeating, Unconditional and Always Active.

Conclusion

Protecting your spawn is essential especially after taking so long to set it up for your players to join. Even having some protection will help as it will put of potential griefers as its much easier to grief a server or realm with out protection rather than one that has some.

A guide to understanding how to use dx dy or dz commands to set an exact radius for Minecraft Bedrock edition.

How To Effect An Exact Area In Minecraft

This command is brilliant for getting and exact area of which to effect a player or entity or even block in Minecraft. You can of course set a radius command however this effects blocks in a circular motion around the spot rather than an exact area which you want it to effect. For instance a square, rectangle or other shapes.

Understanding What X Y Z Coordinates Mean

First lets understand the coordinates as you will need to know this before using the dx dy dz in Minecraft to show an excite area.

In bedrock edition you need to switch on your coordinates so you can see where your players coordinates are. You can do this by your pause menu, or you can use the command.
/gamerule showcoordinates true

Once you have them enabled you can see exactly where your player is stood. On the top left you will see 3 numbers for example you might see.

120 60 -190

It goes in this order X Y Z So 120 is on the X axis, 60 is on the Y axis (height) and -190 is on the Z axis.

Now you can identify exactly where your player is on my map. So lets find out how to use this with dx dy dz to effect a specific area.

Using Your DX DY DZ To Plan Radius

So for example lets say green is the X and yellow is Z. The Y is the height of the player so I won’t include it in this map. Lets say the height (Y) is 50 as an example.

The red dot is sitting on X=5 the Y=50 and Z=3 this gives you your exact location.

Now lets say you want to make a cube to the right of where your stood to cover this area (picture below)

So let’s say you want to give an effect at everyone in this area? Lets find out by doing an effect command.

Lets start the command with /effect @a and now we have to specify the exact location to effect the player.

First we need our coordinates where we start (the red dot) so /effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3.…..

Now we follow it with the distances away or from the original position. So dx is how far up or down from where we started. If you count up it counts 3 blocks away from the red starting square

Just be aware that if it went downward on the map you would be going in minus, so -1 -2 -3 ect.

Now lets figure out our DY, this is simply the height so lets say we want it to effect everyone from the Block where your feet are to your head. So 3 blocks height should do that. dy=3

Now lets update the command. /effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dx=?

For the last part we need to figure out what the dx is. As you can see we move in a positive direction 4 blocks to the right.

And again to clarify if it were going toward the left it would be in the minus so -4. How ever we were 4 blocks to the right so dz=4.

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4]

Now for this command lets finish it off with a command to give someone slowness in this area.

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] slowness 10 10

Now anyone in this area will be effected with slowness for 10 seconds for 10 strength.

You can also effect a different number of people by adding a player count. Leaving it empty will effect everyone but for example if you want it to be for only one person you can finish it with c=1

/effect @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4c=1]

Other Examples For The Radius Commands

You can also use this give people items within an area:

/give @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] stone 5

You can use this to teleport players when they reach specific areas:

/tp @a [x=5,y=50,z=3,dx=3,dy=3,dz=4] 100 60 120

How To Use The HasItem Command In Minecraft 5 (10)

Guide on how to use the hasitem command as part of the effect command in Minecraft bedrock edition.

What Is The HasItem Command Used For?

You can use this command to detect whether a player or entity has an item in their inventory. It does however go further than that, giving you the options to check by quantity and also by where the item is places within a players inventory.

It is used as part of the effect command which can be started by typing /effect @a [

So let’s go through the uses of the hastier command in Minecraft.

HasItem Command Guide

HasItem Item Command

Let’s get started with a simple command which can simply detect whether a player has an item anywhere in their inventory. For example the player will be called bob123 and we will give this player an effect of slowness for 10 seconds with a power of 10.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block}] slowness 10 10

Hasitem Quantity Command

Now lets do the same as the above, bu this time lets see if the player has a certain quantity of the item were searching for. There are some variations but for the first example lets search for an exact quantity.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=2}] slowness 10 10

You can also use other variations such as less than a number, you can do this by adding two fullstops before the number like the example below.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=..2}] slowness 10 10

To look for more than a certain number add two fullstops after the number like the example below, this one means its looking for anyone with over 2 command blocks in their inventory.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=2..}] slowness 10 10

Alternatively you can see if a player has an amount between a range, such as seeing if they have between 5 and 10 quantity of that item. You do this by adding the first range, then two full stops then finishing with the last number in the range to look for.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=5..10}] slowness 10 10

HasItem Location Command

You can also look for this item in a location of the player. You can search all slots of a player or entity to make your search more specific. In the example below we will be looking for 2 command blocks, in the players hotbar.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=2,location=slot.hotbar}] slowness 10 10

Locations On A Player

slot.hotbar
slot.inventory
slot.armour
Head
Chest
Feet
Legs
slot.weapon.offhand
slot.weapon.mainhand

This will search the entire area which you have selected. You can also search over slot like the example below.

HasItem Location Slot Command

You can look specifically within a location by adding a slot part to your command. So lets try and find something in the 2nd slot of the players hotbar for example. And don’t forget that slots start at 0 in Minecraft so the furthest on the left is slot 0 the second is slot 1 etc.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=2,location=slot.hotbar,slot=1}] slowness 10 10

HasItem Data Command

You can specify different blocks if they are similar but with a different data value using the data argument to the command. This is best used if the command of 2 different blocks has the same name but a different data value.

/effect bob123 [hasitem={item=command_block,quantity=2,location=slot.hotbar,slot=1,data=2}] slowness 10 10

Different Uses For The HasItem Command In Minecraft

I can see this being used in a great way to stop grievers or players that should have an item. For example you can detect if anyone has a tnt block with a repeating command block (in a tick area) and then give them instant blindness, making it impossible to start a grief as they can’t see.

Perhaps set one up and if it detects anyone with illegal items such as bedrock it slows them to a crawl, making it not fun in anyway to have these banned items.

Another use is to give players boosts in mini games. For example if a player gets a specific item, it may give them jump boost for a few seconds, or potentially get a bit speedier.

Conclusion

I love playing around with bedrock commands and this one is certainly one to be exited about due to its huge variety of uses. I can see this one being a firm favourite amongst the bedrock command block engineers!

Complete Parkour Course with Command Blocks | Bedrock 0 (0)

A great way to make a working Parkour course on your server or realm.

With the feature of tp ing players out of the area they arent supposed to fall in to. And also how to create a ticket like a theme park so players can pay for entry and also win a prize if the make it to the end of the parkour course.

The features include:

Tp Player out of out of bounds area.
Create a ticket for the player.
Charge for the ticket to play the Parkour Minigame.
Give a winning currency prize for the Parkour Minigame Winner.

As with all my Bedrock command block creations I have made sure that is multiplayer friendly. This means it will only charge the correct player for the minigame ticket. It will only tp the player landing in the out of bounds area out, and only giving the prize to the true winner of the game.

As i say in game a brilliant way of stopping outside players gaining entry and pressing the win button are barrier blocks.

To give yourself a barrier block just type into your chat bar: /give @s barrier
The use them to block off all other exits or entrances.

Another good way to block Minecraft players gaining access to parts of your minigames you dont want them too is using a border block and creating an area with no entry’s. Only an OP player can pass over these and they work all they way from bedrock to the sky limit of the world.

How to make a sliding door on your Minecraft worlds.

I have created three options for you, one will open when a player stands on a pressure plate. The next sliding door will be activated if someone is stood near it and the third example of a sliding door will open only if the player has a VIP rank.

You can use these sliding doors for private areas, to charge tickets for entry or many other things.

Using Command blocks we can create almost anything. A keen interest of mine is re creating features we dont normally get with Bedrock but more with java plugins but making them usable in Bedrock.

Much like the Portals video I done, which you can check out on YouTube. I simply used some commands to imitate the feature as well as possible.

As all my Command Block Inventions I make it multiplayer friendly for servers and realms.
