What Minecraft Edition Can Use Mods?

When we are talking about mods, this is only for Java edition on specific versions. Java version is only found on PC and isn’t the same as the editions played on xbox, playstation, mobile or Nintendo switch.

Bedrock edition supports what are known as add-ons. How ever they do now work with mods that are built for java edition.

How ever it’s not just vanilla Minecraft addition that can use mods, you will need forge installed on your java version. To explain this better. Java edition when you first download it, is known as vanilla, by this meaning that its not modded and the default style of the game.

Once you have the default Minecraft you can add mods to it by installing forge or fabric to your Minecraft launcher. This is fairly simple and can be done fairly simply by downloading the forge version you want, then double clicking it and running it on the client side.

Once you have done this you can then access the mods folder and upload mods.

How To Play With Minecraft Mods Easily?

By downloading the curse forge launcher (for free) it automatically connects to your Minecraft launcher and allows you to create different modpackt for free on any Minecraft version and play them on your pc.

Its really is as easy as choosing your version, for example 1.12.2 or the latest version of Minecraft. Then click on “add mods” and simply go ahead and start adding. Once your happy press play and go test out your mods on your newly made modpack.

How Do Minecraft Mods Work?

These are modifications made to the base game, it could be to add magic, dragons, weapons and almost anything you could image. There are some really great mods on there and all free to download and use for your please.

I suggest reading through the descriptions and adding mods that would help create the world you want. Think of the biggest picture, eg the type of server you want to play in, then look for mods that would bring that to life.

I personally have a modded war server that has planes, cars, tanks and items not normally found in Minecraft, meaning that you can truly customise your Minecraft experience by adding mods to your game.

Where Can I Download Mods Safely

There are a few places you can safely download mods for your modpack, these are:

• FTB
• Planet Minecraft

With the new Minecraft 1.19 version released its time to update the our forge and install forge 1.19 to get all the latest mods and Modpacks.

How To Add Mods In Minecraft?

To add mods or modpacks in Minecraft you need to use a different jar type such s Forge or Fabric. These versions of Java allow modifications and have the mod folder for you to add mods too.

They are essentially the same exact game as the normal Vanilla version just with the ability to add modifications. One thing to remember is that mods are version sensitive. So if you have forge 1.18.2 and you try to upload a 1.12 mod it wont work, you will need to find the right version for the right mod and match them when playing.

So when installing forge 1.19 to your pc make sure that the mods you upload are also compatible for forge 1.19 otherwise they will crash the game or simply not load up.

Installing The Forge 1.19 Jar to PC

Before we get started lets first make sure that you have your java up to date on your pc. With out this it will likely not open when you double click on the file.

If you still cant op then files then its worth using the jarfix method to fix the jar files and allow them to open on your pc.

• Download the Forge 1.19 Installer from the minecaftforge.net.

• On the next page wait for the 5 second count down on the top right and then click skip to allow the download. Close the page down after using it and dont click any ads.
  

• Once download double click on the forge 1.19 jar file to open the installer. When opened click ok with Install client selected.
  

• Now its installed on your launcher just open your Minecraft launcher and select the forge 1.19 version which is now installed and press play.

Simple Guide To Install Forge 1.18.2

1. Download Forge 1.18.2 from the here.
2. Open the downloaded jar file and double click it.
3. Choose install to client. Then wait for it to load.
4. Open your Minecraft launcher.
5. Select Forge 1.18.2 from the installations options.

Now if you dont find it in your playable installations (where you normal choose the version to play) then go to the top of your launcher and click on installations. Make sure modded is ticket on the top right and then simply create the installation forge 1.18.2

Create a Modpack on The CurseForge Launcher

Using the launcher, it has made this super easy to download mods and then add them to a pack. Not only is it easy to create a Minecraft modpack on CurseForge but it also only shows you compatible mods.

This means that once you choose your version, whether its 1.12.2 or 1.16.5 you can find the correct mods and wont be shown the non working ones for your version.

You can easily test mods and remove them if needed, and then the most important part is exporting which is also been made so anyone can do it easily.

• Download the CurseForge Launcher and sign in using your Microsoft or Mojang account.
• Select Minecraft from the main CurseForge page once in app.

• Select the “Create Custom Profile Option“

• Write out a Profile Name, choose your Minecraft Version, and the type or java version you want. Either Forge or Fabric.

• Once you have created your new profile, select the profile and click on “Add More Content“

• Now simply use the search bar along the top to find mods, and once you find ones you want click the install button to add them to your modpack.

• Its just a case now of pressing Play and playing your created modpack!

New Modpacks on CurseForge

Ive created some Modpacks myself that you can all check out and play, head on over to our modpack page for more information.

Ive got a range of Modpacks. One you can currently play on the HavoCraft server. This one is Fallout inspired server and survival modpack with gun mods, vehicle mods, and a load of other cool stuff.

Craft Theft Auto is a modpack set in city generation, with gun mods, vehicle mods, vehicle customization mods, talking citizens and much more fun. Another survival modpack with a difference.

You also have Termination Nation. This is my re creation of an impossible style modpack for the most hardcore players much like RL Craft. However I have used much less in terms of mods but yet have some amazing features to keep the game, dare I say it. Even harder than RL Craft!

You not only have the crazy mobs from RL Craft but a whole other set of daemons, monsters and quite frankly the biggest bad guys ive ever seen on Minecraft.

Its is probably the easiest way ive ever added mods to Minecraft and also completely bypasses the forge not loading error or Minecraft Forge Installer Not Opening.

There is no need to download any extra binary files and all you need is the CurseForge launcher. Using its in game modpack creator we can then create a folder for our mods and automatically have forge and all the library’s installed by the launcher.

Allowing us access to the mods folder to then upload one from out pc. Then simply click play and your good to go!

1. Download the CurseForge launcher. (download any mod from here to prompt launcher download)
   CurseForge
2. Select Minecraft and then go to My Modpacks.
3. Select Create Custom Profile.
4. Name the Profile (Modpack name)
5. For Minecraft Version choose the one compatible with the mods you want to play.
6. Type will be Forge or Fabric, select the Forge (as this is a forge tutorial) unless it is for Fabric.
7. In Versions make sure you have one compatible with your mods. The default one is normally the latest version and recommended.
8. Select Create.
9. Now select your modpack you created and click on the three dots next to Play.
10. Select Open Folder and find the mod folder.
11. Upload your mod here and close the folder.
12. You can now click Play to play with your mods.

“This started out as a simple little thing I was putting together for my own server and friends, and since then it’s turned into something pretty ridiculous.  I’ve gotten some requests about releasing it as a modpack so here it is.”

Starting from a simple design by the creator to have a more challenging mod pack to play with, wiht friends. This has become one of the most well known mod packs on Minecraft Java version.

Currently still running on a 1.12.2 version to support the incredible amounts of mods this game is far from simple feeling. It feels as if you have been dropped in a totoally different game. And lkike the creator says, you die alot. If its not a fire or ice breathing dragon if may be one of the other countless custom mobs that are in the game.

As you might image by the name, this mod pack has a lot of mods. Ironically not ALL the mods how ever with a range of over 200 mods you wont be disappointed with your game experience. Not only that its a 1,16,5 version which is currently of this date the latest release that is not in beta.

This kitchensink modpack is great for anyone looking for a fully immersive Minecraft modded experience. How ever make sure your server of PC take the weight of this incredible mod pack.

3. Sky Factory 4 Modpack

If you enjoy Skyblock but need more umph then you certainly have right mod. Often described as Skyblock on steroids this mod pack takes it to the extreme with not only 30 + level types, but custom advancement levels, objects, recipes and even a time machine box.

Although again a larger modpack, if your able to hold it and play it well then you wont be disappointed.

Love Pokémon? Love Minecraft? Boy have we got a mod pack for you. With a perfect mix of Minecrafts survival world and Pokémon’s catch em if you can game style. This mod pack is one of the best in this genre. Its a fairly larged sized mod pack, with lots of added extra side mods if you want them. From pokestops to extra and advanced gyms, you can go wrong with this mod pack.

Start of by picking your starter Pokémon and then get released into the wild. You will need to survive as normal but with the threat of the other Pokémon wanting to battle. How ever this mod pack has a much friendlier feel to it than others with custom mobs. With the soothing Pokémon music in the back ground and all your child hood characters walking around it certainly hits the spot for Pokémon enthusiast.

5. Valhelsia 3 Modpack

A large modpack based on progression through the world. Using many custom mods they have created a unique adventure game progressions and advances with out losing the sand box game play entirely.

You practically start with nothing and advance through out the game to hold and be able to craft different unique blocks. It has been designed to work for multiplayer servers and not only that. It has created a way to not let total beginners get lost in it all compared to the long term players of the game. Making it desirable for first timers to join your server.

10. FTB Presents Stoneblock 2 Modpack

A unique style of game mode or this modpack, as the title suggests it revolves around stone block. And it really does mean it, as you find out you start underground in stone. Not only that, stone is your primary source of any item. Tp progress you need to sift and find smaller items with in and using your advancement tree create and survive.

It has some interesting quests with good goals to reach keeping you on your toes even in single player mode. Stone block 2 is a FTB and Forge creation based on the revamping of the original StoneBlock modpack by Sunekaer.

11. Crackpack 3 Modpack

This modpack was created in only one week at a Minecraft marathon in 2019. How ever they have made sure to pack as much as humanly possible in them 7 glorious days.

Yet another kitchen sink modpack it includes many favourite features such as magic, wizardly and wizard towers. Including the war mod you have other features such as pirate coves and more. Your able to build trebuchets, cannons and so much more. 12. FTB Beyond Modpack

Feed The Beast Modpacks are growing in popularity and their older mods are still making high on the list. Yet another kitchen sink style modpack you’ll find all the best of the mods all working well in one modpack. Holding around 185 mods its bound to have something most player types.

Not recommended for large servers or weak machines and will need at least 4gb or ram to run. Some of the cool features include back packs, land claiming for safety or to stop thief’s on a server. Quarry’s and a very cool chunk loading system that allows you to keep farms loaded as long as your within a certain area and the server is online.

13. Zombie Apocalypse Modpack

Love zombie games? This modpack is perfect for you! A never ending stream of zombies will be brought upon you. To survive you must build a base, defend it well and make sure to keep up with any up keep.

Zombies can be triggered by light, sound and players so make sure to keep hidden and as quiet as possible to stay alive. This modpack will require Opti fine to use but it will make the experience much better.

A highly experimental modpack designed for the newer 1.14 versions. Unfortunately no support will be given for this mod but if your looking to test out some features on a newer version than 1.12 then this si the modpack for you.
